People’s Choice Summer Series

This summer will be the People’s Choice. You can pick
the hymns, songs and Scripture. This is your chance for
us to sing your favorites or challenge me to preach your
favorite or some obscure verses.
This Sunday and through the summer, there will be slips
of paper and a basket on the table in the Narthex. You
can write on a slip of paper the name of your favorite
song or hymn or a Scripture reading. Please write one
song, hymn or Bible verse per piece of paper, so, if you
have multiple suggestions, you’ll need multiple slips of
paper. Place the slip of paper in the basket.
Each week, I’ll choose a Scripture from the basket for the
text to preach. I’m looking for some challenge or
creativity. Since I’ve done sermon series on John,
Revelation and Galatians, please do choose something
from the other books of the Bible.
Here’s the catch. You don’t know when we’ll sing your
song or I’ll preach the text you suggested. You should be
here every Sunday so you don’t miss your suggestions.

In anticipation of a great summer,
Pastor T

Rummage Sale Aug 4th

It’s that time of year again folks! First Christian second
annual rummage sale event will be held on August 4, 2018
between the hours of 8 AM and 2 PM. We’ve had a great amount
of donations already which we really appreciate. Please remember
if you’re clearing out the clutter or conducting a yard sale or
happen to have neighbors that are conducting a yard sale and
would like to donate items we can gladly accept them. If you have
items that need to be transported to the church that you are
unable to bring, please contact Larry Chamberlain or Larry Steele.
We look forward to another successful event.

Camp Work Day

First Christian will be going to a Camp Christian on
Saturday, June 30th. We will meet at the church at 7:45 AM. We
will need to get on the road by 8:00 and arrive at Camp Christian
around 10:00. The campers will be going home as we are arriving.
We will be helping Al Channel, Camp Superintendent with cleaning
of cabins, cleaning of bathrooms, and mowing lawn at camp. I will
be putting up a sign up sheet on the Narthex Table. I am asking for
anyone who can make it, please come. We need to show up in a
