TOUR OF ITALY ANNUAL CHRISTMAS DINNER

We invite you to join us for a very special holiday dinner and evening of beautiful music right here in Fellowship Hall on Friday, December 6th at 6:30 pm. Reservations are still available through this Sunday, December 1 st and proceeds will benefit our Community Garden Project. Tickets for adults are $18 and $16 for youth 12 and under. Invite your family and friends to join us for a fabulous meal prepared by Karen Thompson. Music to get us in the holiday spirit will be provided by our very gifted Music Director, Michael Hefner.

Join us for Christmas-Eve at First Christian Church

6:15 P.M.- Wassail & Cookies

Join us for fellowship over Hot Wassail and Christmas Cookies, a wonderful way to start an evening celebrating the birth of Jesus.

7:00 P.M. Christmas-Eve Worship

We will have our worship service, joining us in the Pulpit will be The Reverend Dr. Wilie J. Barnes-Jackson. We will have special music provided by Michael Hefner, Kaitlin Thompson, and Phillip Meyers accompanied by Kim Meyers. Following communion, we will cap off our evening with a candle-lighting ceremony and hymn singing.

Commissioning of The Rev. Connor L. Thompson

Join us Sunday October 20th for the Commissioning of The Rev. Connor L. Thompson as Associate Pastor of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Middletown, Ohio.

The message that morning will be given by The Rev. Rick Spleth, Regional minister of the Christian Church in Indiana and Visiting Regional Minister of the Christian Church in Ohio. The Rev. Carol Oetzel will be present representing the Christian Church in Ohio Commission on Ministry.

Rev. Thompson is a lifelong member of First Christian Church. Rev. Thompson is also a Middletown native having graduated from Madison High School and will graduate from Miami University with a Bachelor of Science in Non Profit & Community Studies. Rev. Thompson intends to continue graduate education at Phillips Theological Seminary, and is is excited to serve in his home community.

Choir Invitation

I am excited and honored to be leading music at FCC and I would like to invite anyone that has the desire to sing (even if you’ve never been in a choir before) to join the choir! Rehearsals will begin on Wednesday, August 28 from 6:30-8:00pm, and we will begin singing for the services on Sunday, September 8 (week after Labor Day). We would love to have you come and join us. I hope to see you there!

Trunk or Treat, Oct. 19th

Join us for the 2019 Trunk or Treat, this will be an indoor/outdoor event. We will have trunks to visit in the parking lot as well as tables to visit in the fellowship hall. There will be food, and games for children. This event is free to the community.

Installation of Rev. Dr. Willie J. Barnes-Jackson

Join us Sunday October 20th at 3:00 p.m. for the installation of The Rev. Dr. Willie J. Barnes-Jackson as Senior Pastor of First Christian Church (Discples of Christ). The service will begin at 3:00 p.m. and will be officiated by The Rev. Rick Spleth, Visiting Regional Pastor for the Christian Church in Ohio and Regional Pastor for the Christian Church in Indiana. We will also have clergy representing a variety of congregations from the Middletown area, as well as Disciples colleagues and friends.

This will be a great afternoon of worship as we welcome Pastor Willie officially as our Senior Pastor. Following the service we will have a reception with cookies and punch

Reverend Dr. Johnson is a retired Disciples Minister and Pastor Emeritus of Summit Christian Churchin Trotwood, Ohio. Rev. Johnson currently serves as the  Regional Elder for district 8, serving the Christian Church In Ohio in greater Dayton, and Middletown.

Carol is an Ordained Minister in the Christian Church(Disciples of Christ). Carol is the Pastor of Assimilation at Legacy Christian Church In Harrison, Ohio. She serves on the Commission of Ministry  and the Camp Christian Committee for our region. Carol served as Associate Pastor at FCC-Middletown for 13 years. Carol also served Walnut Hills Christian Church and Mt. Healthy Christian Church.
