We are so proud of Kaitlin Thompson as she received her
commission to work with the mission, Cominante, in the
Dominican Republic. During a special ceremony at our
General Assembly in Des Moines, Iowa last week, Kaitlin
was one of twelve missionaries commissioned to serve
throughout the world. They are being sent to Kenya,
Thailand, Japan, Greece, Morocco, Haiti, Jamaica,
Cayman Islands, Zambia, Republic of Korea, Dominican
Republic and Palestine. It is God’s plan that we share His
Word. What a blessing it is to have a member of our
congregation, our community, our region, and our
Country volunteer and say, “Here am I, Send me!” May
God’s blessings and our prayers be with Kaitlin
throughout her service.
Sunday School Class Based on “Fireproof”

Join us for a new Sunday School Study based on the movie Fireproof.
In Fireproof Your Life, Michael Catt shows how, like the great Sequoia, we can stand strong through the trials that will inevitably come, and even be fruitful. Using illustrations from his own life and from the movie, Fireproof (produced by his congregation Sherwood Baptist Church), Catt shows eight ways we can prepare our lives from the trials that will inevitably come our way. Discussing practical issues such as temptation, marriage and finances, he reminds us that in an eroding culture we are called to stand firm in our faith.
The class meets Sundays at 9:15 A.M. in the Parlor.

Rebecca Woods serves as Spiritual Care Coordinator at the Lindner Center of HOPE. She sees patients who want to include spirituality and faith in their ongoing recovery, helps provide for patients’ spiritual and religious needs, and leads Enrichment groups.
Rev. Woods is an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) denomination. She completed four units of Clinical Pastoral Education at the Cincinnati Veterans Administration Medical Center and Twin Towers Retirement Community. In 2015 she completed additional training in Palliative Care Chaplaincy through California State University and the HealthCare Chaplaincy Network. She is a member of the Association of Professional Chaplains and the Spiritual Care Association.
Her focus is on helping people develop and maintain a healthy spirituality to support recovery and wellness; facilitating connections with supportive faith communities; and educating faith leaders and communities on how to support individuals and families in coping with mental health and addiction issues.
Before joining the Lindner Center of HOPE, she worked as a full-time chaplain at Twin Towers Retirement Community and served on the board of directors of NAMI of Butler County. Prior to that, she pastored an urban congregation and was the executive director/campus minister at the Campus Ministry Center (now the Interfaith Center) in Oxford, Ohio, serving students at Miami University.

Carol is an Ordained Minister in the Christian Church(Disciples of Christ). Carol is the Pastor of Assimilation at Legacy Christian Church In Harrison, Ohio. She serves on the Commission of Ministry and the Camp Christian Committee for our region. Carol served as Associate Pastor at FCC-Middletown for 13 years. Carol also served Walnut Hills Christian Church as Co-Pastor.
The Rev. Connor L. Thompson, Interim Senior Pastor

Connor began his ministry as Associate Pastor on September 1st, 2019. Connor was commissioned to the Order of Ministry of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Ohio on October 20th, 2019. July 1st, 2020, the Congregation called Connor to serve as the Interim Senior Pastor.
Connor’s duties involve home bound and hospital visitation, preaching, and occasional bible study. Connor is our admin/webmaster and also works along side our Audio Visual team, to ensure our technology aids our worship and congregation.
Connor is a life-long member of First Christian Church, having Great-Grandparents who were early members. Connor has a passion for Pastoral Ministry and Teaching the Traditions of the Church to a new generation. Connor had his first ministry experience serving as Chaplain at Camp Friedlander operated by Dan Beard Council, BSA. He is a graduate of Miami University receiving a Bachelor of Science in Non-Profit and Community Studies, and is pursuing a Certificate of Pastoral Ministry at Phillips Theological Seminary and Ordination in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
Connor is active with the Middletown Area Ministerial Alliance, and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Kiwanis Club of Middletown.
Connor is an Eagle Scout, has a passion for music, and all things technology. When not working at the church, Connor can most likely be found in a uniform serving the Boy Scouts of America.

Jeff Wilder, Associate Pastor

Born and raised in Middletown, Jeff Wilder has a true heart for the young people of this city. He has just recently began his formal education at Phillips Theological Seminary, but has had the unique opportunity to study under some of the areas great ministers and theologians. Jeff is an active volunteer with The Boy Scouts of America for 13 years. He has been recognized as Scoutmaster of the Year, Cub Master of the Year, and Volunteer of the Year, as well as being a Vigil Honoree in the Order of the Arrow (BSA Honor Society). In 2018, Jeff was recognized by Kingswell Ministries as Man of the Year for his work with the youth in Middletown and Mason of the year for Jefferson lodge Middletown Free and accepted masons. He has previously served as an outreach minister, an elder, and a youth program coordinator. Jeff’s family has absorbed his love for serving , his wife, Kelly, works as a home health care giver for adults with disabilities and youngest son, Kobi, is an eagle scout whos eagle project was a anti bulling campaign. they currently live in Middletown. He is also the proud father of seven of who, son Glenn South is a missionary to turkey, Daughter Courtney is a preschool teacher, daughter Carly is a student of Cincinnati state for hospitality and business management and he is an even prouder grandfather of four. His favorite verse is “The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18).
In ministry, as in life Jeff has lived and ministered from the precept that God Gives Us “it is ok to give the wrong person a break but not Break the wrong person.”

Following Commissioning, Connor will serve as Associate Pastor of First Christian Church, Middletown. He is a lifelong member of First Christian Church, Connor has served as Chaplain at Camp Friedlander operated by the Dan Beard Council, Boy Scouts of America. Connor is a senior at Miami University majoring in Non Profit & Community Studies and intends to pursue a Master of Divinity and Ordination in the Christian Church (Dsiciples of Christ) in the United States & Canada.
